By slightly offsetting each unit, this staggered duplex takes full advantage of a long lot. The arrangement minimizes shared walls and allows windows to be placed on all four sides of each unit, a luxury rarely available in the typical duplex. A large recess in the back of each building creates a covered entry, provides shade, and encourages occupants to make full use of their side yards. The overall design of the buildings is heavily informed by our ReadyHouse series, employing one or two strong gestures while retaining simple, classic lines.
