ABOUT
BIG THINKING FROM A SMALL STUDIO
We are a boutique architecture firm specializing in residential and small commercial projects in Salida, Colorado and the surrounding area. This focus gives us deep knowledge of the region’s climate, building considerations, construction styles, as well as relationships with builder and developer partners.
As a small team, we’re able to offer high-touch, hands-on interactions with our clients–the people you meet are the same ones actually working on your project. This emphasis on client involvement and engagement helps us create the best work.
Our residential work focuses on homes that emphasize livability and energy-efficiency. Our designs are often streamlined, modernized versions of traditional forms, merging time-proven designs with modern lifestyles.
Our approach to commercial projects emphasizes alignment with the goals of the developer or builder. We prefer to be involved at the concept stage, as we believe our early contributions can aid the overall flexibility, efficiency, and profitability of the project.
TEAM
Lizzie Hedrick is an architect licensed in Oregon and Colorado. Lizzie began her career assisting with custom residential projects. Since then, she’s put her skills to work on a wide range of challenges: she’s helped brands like Nike and Fjallraven create new retail spaces, made old homes new again, reimagined offices for hybrid work styles, designed luxury condominiums, been instrumental in the development of new schools and learning environments, created more patient-friendly healthcare experiences, and designed wineries in Napa and Sonoma.
In recent years, she’s focused exclusively on designing custom homes, townhomes, and condominiums. Her style brings a modern, minimalist approach to traditional forms, resulting in timeless designs that reflect the local environment.
Erik Johnson is a designer and creative known for his big-picture, innovative thinking. After spending years working with major corporate clients, he’s thoroughly enjoying the one-on one interactions only possible with smaller projects. When not thinking about architecture, you can find him behind a camera, designing or re-designing something, or outside chasing gravity.
