Centerville Ranch is a new development created within a working ranch, just outside of Nathrop, Colorado. Most lots encompass a few acres, which helps to preserve the landscape of the original ranch property. To create this modest vacation cabin, we looked to the utilitarian buildings on the ranch for inspiration. With a focus on outdoor living, a large covered patio (anchored by large fireplace) comprises more than a third of the total structure. An extended clerestory brings additional light to both the main living area and the patio. The metal roofing and wood siding were specifically chosen to slowly weather, enabling the building to more naturally fit into the ranch landscape.
